Now we arrive at SAN CRISTÓBAL. Although this battery has suffered more than the previous one, its shape has been well conserved. It had 10 gunpoints, accommodation for the gunners, a munitions store and a reverberatory furnace for heating cannonballs. Its mission was to cover the inlet at Cariño preventing enemy boats from anchoring. From here we can admire the magnificent views of the estuary and the existing nearby forts. A few metres further along the road, we find a viewpoint from which we can observe the structure of the fort.
