We continue up Méndez Núñez until we get to DOLORES CHURCH.
Located in Amboage square, it was designed in 1771 and built by the congregation of the same name.
It is a small church and is notable for its rigorous composition, severity and beautiful proportions. It has a single nave on a floor plan in a Latin cross shape. Above the door there is a round oculus with a small stained glass window. In its small interior there are small interesting statues which play a leading role in Ferrol´s Easter week which has recently been declared of national interest. The statues include la Dolorosa, a crucified Christ and Jesus the Nazarene. The current towers, one of which contains a clock, were added in 1854.
