This building was designed by Julio Galán Carvajal and built between 1908 and 1911. It is a surprisingly compact building and was one of the first to be built in the Art Nouveau style in the city. The construction is quite original. It it arranged around a central area with an elevated roof section to let natural light into the waiting room and also as a hygiene measure. There is impressive distinguishing ornamental work on the façades. Components used for this type of facility are merged with Art Nouveau elements of the period. The roundness of the corners using horizontal stone braces should be noted. The cornice is wide and finished off with pinnacles. It has a hipped roof with curved tiles. Today it is the main office of the Red Cross.
