Ponzos

This is an unspoilt and isolated coastline which is worth a visit for its peacefulness. It is located in a natural setting which has not been built on and offers green spaces nearby. The beach is linear, it has white sand, a strong swell and undercurrents. It is 1,400 metres long and has a width of 45 metres. It is a popular beach with surfers and lovers of other sports. There is also a nudist area. At Ponzos, there used to be small mining industries, which may date back to Roman times. It is said that the beach takes its name from the large number of mining pits (“pozos”) which were the entrances to the mines, and which nowadays are in disuse. The remains can be seen at the edge of the beach.

Our beach tour ends here. We return to the city centre along the CP-3603 road.
